The annual Honors Recognition Banquet at Midwestern State University, the marquee student academic and leadership award occasion of the year, will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026. All academic programs, administrative departments, and registered student organizations are invited to nominate students for the awards. Completed nominations must be submitted by midnight on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Additional information:
1. Each program, department, or organization may nominate up to two students for each award category.
2. Nominations should be based on scholarship, service, leadership, involvement, and character.
3. Students must be enrolled at MSU for the spring 2026 semester.
4. Students should be nominated within their current academic classification (FR, SO, JR, SR, GRAD) based on total earned college credit hours. However, the Student the Year, Viola Grady Leadership Award, and Howard Farrell Community Excellence Award are open to students from all classifications.
In order for a nominee to be considered for these awards, they MUST also submit a Nominee Information Form by midnight on Monday, March 9, 2026. The Nominee Information Form may be accessed in Mustangs Link, in the my.msutexas portal, or the Dean of Students website under the link Outstanding Student Awards. A committee comprised of university faculty and staff review all completed nominations and determine the selection results.
